Michael Carrick Ready For More Responsibility At Manchester United
Michael Carrick has revealed that he is ready to take on more responsibility at Manchester United.
The former Tottenham midfielder had a tremendous second half to last season and was rewarded with a new three-year contract, which will keep him at Old Trafford until the end of the 2013-14 season.
The England international accepts he has now grown into one of the senior figures at United following his £18.6million arrival from Tottenham in July 2006.
Carrick said: "We've got a lot of younger players, so it's up to the older ones to set an example of how things should be done - and I suppose I'm one of them now."
